Manakhah is a mountain town in the Haraz range west of Sana'a that was one of Yemen's most photographed domestic tourism destinations before 2015 — the medieval stone tower houses and dramatic ridgeline setting attracted visitors from the capital and some international tourists. That era ended with the war. Houthi control and conflict have shut down all tourism and foreign presence completely.
