Cam Ranh has the international airport but the real opportunity is in the resort corridor stretching south from the city along the peninsula — luxury properties like Anam and Mia sit in one of the quietest upscale stretches in Vietnam. If you're staying at a resort here rather than commuting into Nha Trang, you get the beach quality without the circus. Staff-to-guest ratios are high, the pace is slow, and the genuine curiosity about foreigners that's worn off in Nha Trang is still intact here.

Cam Ranh town itself is a Vietnamese military and fishing city — the famous bay was a US and then Soviet naval base, and it retains that closed, functional character.
