Kim Bảng holds Tam Chúc, a Buddhist complex completed in 2019 that's now one of the largest in Asia — Vietnamese pilgrims come by the millions but almost no foreign tourists, which makes a foreigner here a genuine novelty rather than a commodity. The infrastructure built around the pagoda has added some guesthouses and basic tourism services that wouldn't otherwise exist in this district. If you're willing to play the spiritual tourism angle, you'll meet Vietnamese visitors from all over the country who are more open than locals. Still a stretch, but more interesting than the other rural districts.
