Most social and business activity gravitates toward the Acarigua side of the metro area, and Araure's own center is more residential than anything else. Dollar income goes far here like everywhere in Venezuela right now, but there is not much to spend it on. Worth considering only as lodging or context for time spent in Acarigua.
