Tallulah's position near the Mississippi Delta bottomlands makes it one of the better deer and duck hunting spots in Louisiana — the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge is one of the last intact bottomland hardwood forests in the lower Mississippi Valley. For serious hunters, the access here is legitimate and the cost (hunting leases, land prices) is extremely low. The Delta landscape itself is beautiful in a stark, specific way.
