EastFeliciana
6.7
High score (8-10)
East Feliciana has some of the most beautiful rolling country in Louisiana — the Feliciana hills are genuinely distinct from the flat delta landscape most people associate with the state. Clinton has a well-preserved antebellum courthouse square that gives the town actual architectural character. The parish is close enough to Baton Rouge (40 miles) to access its social scene while living at significantly lower cost. Good deer hunting in the hardwood forests.
Mid score (6-8) · Your profile
Clinton is a small town of 1,800 in a parish of 19,000 that's primarily rural and very quiet. The economy is mixed — some commuters to Baton Rouge, some agriculture, Angola Prison employment spill (technically in West Feliciana but the region shares that economic reality). Social life is firmly private and local-network-based. Pleasant place to live quietly; not a place with an independent social scene.
Lower score (below 6)
East Feliciana is beautiful countryside with almost no social infrastructure. Clinton as a parish seat is very small and the surrounding parish is overwhelmingly rural. The primary institutional employer in the broader area is Angola State Penitentiary next door in West Feliciana, which shapes the regional psychology in specific ways. Without a Baton Rouge work connection or a farming reason to be here, there's nothing for an outsider to anchor to.
