Malad City is a tiny settlement in the far southeastern corner of Idaho — about 2,200 people — and the county has deep Welsh LDS roots going back to settlers in the 1860s. The primary reason anyone passes through is I-15 on the way between Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City. There's a truck stop and a few services. The social life is the ward.
Lower score (below 6)
Oneida County is as insular and LDS-dominated as any county in Idaho. The community is tight, generationally rooted, and has almost no infrastructure for newcomers. An outsider passing through on the interstate has no reason to stop, and no reason to stay.
