Mid score (6-8) · Your profile
Jerome County is one of the top dairy counties in the country and the agricultural economy has brought in a significant Hispanic workforce — Jerome city is roughly 30-40% Hispanic, which creates more demographic variety than most of southern Idaho. The town has about 12,000 people and a functional downtown. Twin Falls is just west and provides regional services. The social worlds are fairly segregated by ethnicity but the diversity exists.
Lower score (below 6)
Jerome's social fabric is split between the long-established Anglo farming community and the Hispanic agricultural worker population, with limited crossover and little in between for an outsider to navigate. The nightlife is minimal. An outsider without roots in either community finds Jerome more of a pass-through than a destination.
