The landscape is real and dramatic but tourist infrastructure hasn't developed the way it has further north around Skole and Slavske. The town of a few thousand exists largely to service the surrounding mountain villages. As an outdoor base it's functional but raw — guesthouses exist but nothing is built for comfort or convenience.

The population has been declining for decades as young people leave for Lviv and Poland; you're arriving in a place people are actively trying to exit. Unlike the Skole area, no ski resort or national park infrastructure developed here to give outsiders a frame. No social scene, no nightlife, no outsider infrastructure. The mountains are real but you're on your own in them.
