A foreign man with resources stands out immediately — the social gap between a well-resourced outsider and the local economic baseline is wide, and women in Hoima are aware of that gap. The Bunyoro Kingdom cultural identity is strong, which means there's a respect hierarchy worth understanding, but it doesn't close doors for serious outsiders. If you're based anywhere in western Uganda, Hoima town is worth the trip.
