The economy here is more working-class than Piatra-Neamț — textiles, food processing, services — which shapes the demographic you will meet. As a foreigner you are a novelty but the city does not have enough tourism infrastructure or educated professional class to make that work easily for you. Worth a day trip to see the bishopric and city center, but Piatra-Neamț is the better base for the county.
