The commune sits at the base of Ceahlău massif — the mountain Romanians sometimes call the Olympus of the Dacians and one of the most spiritually significant peaks in the country. The village exists almost entirely to provide access to the mountain, and outside of hiking season it is extremely quiet with a very small permanent population. There are no bars, no cafe culture, nothing that generates the kinds of interactions you would need. Great mountain, completely wrong place for social purposes.
