Bicaz is a small industrial town that was expanded during communist-era dam construction on the Bistrița River, and it still functions mainly as a service hub for the Bicaz Lake reservoir and the gorges upstream. There is a weekly market, some accommodation, and basic town infrastructure, but the social scene is extremely thin for a settlement of this size. As a foreign man you will be noticed, but the dating pool is limited — the local economy does not generate the demographic you are looking for. Better used as a logistical base for the gorges than as a destination in itself.
