BorosneuMare
7.6
High score (8-10)
BorosneuMare is a remote commune in the hilly terrain of southeastern Covasna with a scattered population and no real urban infrastructure. This is true rural Transylvania — some of the most intact traditional Szekely village culture left in Romania. If that authenticity is your angle and you have any Magyar language or cultural connection, it's genuinely interesting. For anyone else it's a curiosity at best.
Mid score (6-8) · Your profile
Very small, very remote, very Hungarian. BorosneuMare is the kind of place that requires a specific reason to visit and provides almost no social infrastructure for anyone without one. The terrain is beautiful in a rugged way and the village pace is its own thing, but there's no scene here by any standard definition. Hard to score meaningfully either way — it's just very quiet.
Lower score (below 6)
BorosneuMare is a remote commune with almost no population under 50 that hasn't already emigrated. There's no economy here beyond subsistence agriculture and the kind of state transfers that keep Romanian villages alive. An outsider coming here is genuinely unexplainable to locals. Nothing about this place is designed for visitors, let alone for meeting people.
