Jesús de Tavarangue is a UNESCO World Heritage Jesuit ruins site that gets genuine international tourist traffic, which means the community has more exposure to foreigners than its size would suggest. Tourism-facing businesses — guides, lodging, small restaurants — create women with actual outsider experience and English exposure. A foreign man traveling the Jesuit missions circuit has an obvious, legitimate context for being there that opens doors quickly. Small window, but it exists.
