Łańcut is home to one of the most impressive aristocratic palaces in Central Europe — the Łańcut Castle, former seat of the Potocki and Lubomirski families, now a museum with an extraordinary carriage collection and annual music festival. But the town itself (~17,000) is small and provincial, and the castle draws day-trippers from Rzeszów rather than building any kind of resident scene. The cultural prestige of the castle does not transfer to the social environment of the town.
