Vanimo is the provincial capital of West Sepik and the only real town in the province — it has a land border crossing with Indonesia at Wutung, which means an active cross-border economy, a functioning market with Indonesian goods, and people who are genuinely used to navigating between worlds. Foreign men here, especially those who can engage across the Indonesian border context, have real social traction.
