PanglimaSugala
8.5
Lower score (below 6)
Panglima Sugala, formerly called Balimbing, is a remote municipality on the main Tawi-Tawi island with one of the lowest development indexes in the Philippines. The local economy is almost entirely fishing and small-scale farming, and the community is conservative Muslim Tausug. As a foreign man you'd stand out severely and have no meaningful social access. The name change from Balimbing happened decades ago but the isolation hasn't changed at all.
