Dapa
8.5
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Dapa is the main commercial port on Siargao Island and picks up some of the island's overall tourism energy, giving it more social potential than any mainland municipality in the province. Local women here are accustomed to seeing foreigners pass through and the curiosity toward outsiders is real. The proximity to General Luna means you can base yourself here at lower costs and access the full Siargao social scene by tricycle.
Mid score (6-8)
Dapa functions primarily as a transit hub — the RORO ferry from Surigao City docks here, and most tourists pass straight through to General Luna. The town has markets, hardware stores, and basic guesthouses, and a few restaurants that are improving as Siargao grows. It is not a destination in itself, but for a foreign man comfortable making his own social moves, being the only outsider in a working port town on Siargao Island is not a bad position.
Lower score (below 6)
Dapa has no tourist-facing social infrastructure of its own and the foreigners who land here by ferry are mostly gone within an hour, heading south to General Luna. The social scene is purely local — market workers, tricycle drivers, provincial commerce. There is no bar strip, no expat hangout, and nothing built to receive visitors. You are just passing through whether you meant to be or not.
