Camiguin
8.4
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Camiguin is a tiny volcanic island with a legitimate backpacker and diver scene that draws younger foreign travelers, and that traveler mix creates a social environment where meeting women — both local and foreign — is natural. The island is small enough that you run into the same people repeatedly, which accelerates connections. Mambajao is the hub and has a few good bars.
Mid score (6-8)
Camiguin is a beautiful island but small — about 80,000 people — and the social scene is limited to what's in Mambajao and the handful of beach resorts. The foreign visitors here tend to be serious dive and nature travelers, which sets a certain tone. Good for a short break, not for extended social engagement.
Lower score (below 6)
Camiguin's small population and quiet resort character means the social scene dries up fast. Outside the handful of bars in Mambajao and the resort strip, there's very little going on. Men who come expecting a Bohol-level scene will be disappointed.
