🇲🇳 Mongolia
8.6
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Mongolia is genuinely off the radar for most Western guys, which is exactly why it works. Ulaanbaatar has a young, curious professional class and the novelty factor as a foreign man is real — women here have very little exposure to outsiders and that gap works in your favor. The nomadic culture means hospitality runs deep, and if you make any effort to engage with local customs, you're treated well almost immediately. Costs are low enough that you can operate confidently without burning cash.
Mid score (6-8)
Ulaanbaatar is the only city with real social infrastructure — the rest of the country is sparse steppe and small towns where meeting anyone is a logistical exercise. The dating pool in UB is younger and increasingly educated, but English is limited outside specific social circles, so communication takes patience. Mongolian guys can be territorial about foreign men in certain settings, so read the room. Come with realistic expectations and you'll have a decent time; come expecting Southeast Asia and you'll be disappointed.
Lower score (below 6)
Mongolia is a tough destination if social outcomes are your main goal. Outside Ulaanbaatar there's essentially no scene at all — aimag centers are small, conservative, and not set up for meeting people as an outsider. Even in UB the bar and club scene is thin compared to almost anywhere else in Asia, and extreme winters from October through April shut down a lot of outdoor social activity. The country rewards adventure travelers far more than guys primarily focused on meeting women.
