Landa de Matamoros is in the deepest part of the Sierra Gorda and for someone doing serious ecotourism — the gorge landscape and waterfalls in the area include some of the most isolated backcountry in Querétaro state — there's a genuine wilderness experience unavailable anywhere closer to the capital. The complete absence of other foreigners makes you memorable to anyone you do encounter.
