Buses from Morelia stop here and tourist traffic from the Morelia-Pátzcuaro corridor is constant. Women working in the market deal with outsiders all day, every day, through commercial transactions, which creates a social openness unusual for a town of this size. The market is one of the best in the state for Michoacán crafts.
