Yatiyanthota sits at the higher-elevation eastern edge of Kegalle District where rubber gives way to tea, and some of the Kelani River's upper valley scenery is legitimately worth seeing. A few waterfalls in the area draw occasional local visitors but there is almost no foreign tourism infrastructure here. The community is agricultural and insular. Scenic but not socially accessible for an outsider.
