The northern stretch of Koralai Pattu runs along the coast with fishing villages that have some of the most direct empty beach access in the district — coastline that the rest of Sri Lanka has no idea about. Tamil fishing communities here tend to be slightly more outward-facing than agricultural interior villages because the sea trade creates some contact with outside. The natural scenery is genuinely good. That said, you are still in conservative Tamil territory with minimal infrastructure and no social scene.
