Batroun has quietly become one of the best social bets on the Lebanese coast — it has a genuine beach bar and craft brewery scene that runs from spring through early fall, and the crowds are younger and more liberal than what you find in typical Lebanese resort towns. The Phoenician sea wall that still cuts across the harbor has made Batroun a minor tourist draw, which means foreigners are a normal sight and not treated with the suspicion you get in more insular areas.
