Masuho
8.2
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Masuho sits along the Fuji River and the historic Nakamichi Okan highway route, and has a functional small-town infrastructure with the Minobu Line running through it. The Shiraishi area in particular has some mild tourist interest around river scenery. It's thin but the rail access and river geography give it marginally more connectivity than the fully isolated mountain villages.
Mid score (6-8)
Masuho is a quiet rural town with agricultural and forestry as the economic base. No tourist draw, no foreigner presence, no social infrastructure for an outsider. The Minobu Line gives rail access but the town doesn't have the density to generate social activity.
Lower score (below 6)
There is nothing in Masuho that benefits a foreign man socially. Small declining agricultural population, no tourist economy, no foreigner community. The Fuji River scenery is pleasant but it's scenery. The town is as closed to outsiders as any rural Japanese community without a specific draw.
