Hyogo's Inami is a small agricultural town of about 29,000 in the flat Akashi-Kakogawa corridor — rice farming and suburban residential spillover from the larger cities on either side. There is no tourist angle and no social infrastructure beyond local community. This should not be confused with the wood-carving Inami in Toyama Prefecture, which at least has a distinctive craft tradition. This one does not.
