Shimukappu
7.8
Mid score (6-8) · Your profile
Shimukappu is a tiny Tokachi village of around 1,200 that would be entirely unremarkable except that it contains the Tomamu resort — developed first as a ski area and now operated as Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, a four-season luxury resort complex. Club Med also operates a village here. The resort has built an internationally-marketed Tower of Stars accommodation, a sea of clouds viewing deck (Unkai Terrace), and year-round premium experiences. The social life during resort season operates within the resort complex with international staff and guests. The actual village of Shimukappu is completely separate from this and has nothing of its own.
