Kyōgoku is a Shiribeshi town of around 5,000 famous for one specific thing: the Kyōgoku Fukidashi Park, where an enormous volume of spring water emerges from the base of Mt. Yōtei — the spring discharge is among the largest natural springs in Japan and the water is sold commercially under the Oshimizu brand. Visitors come to fill bottles. The surrounding community is agricultural and the town has no social infrastructure beyond the spring park. A curiosity stop, not a destination.
