Chikuzen is a small rural town at the edge of the Itoshima area, agricultural and quiet. Unlike Itoshima city proper, which has developed a beach and surf identity drawing Fukuoka creatives, Chikuzen doesn't benefit much from that adjacency — it's still fundamentally a farming community. Social infrastructure is thin, the population is older, and there's nothing here that creates organic opportunities for a foreign man to meet people. Itoshima city is a far better option if you're drawn to that part of Fukuoka.
