High score (8-10) · Your profile
Bihar has a small but real educated elite in Patna — IAS aspirants, lawyers, and medical professionals who exist in a completely different social world from the state's reputation. Patna has actual nightlife, coffee shops, and app users if you know where to look. Foreign men are genuinely rare here and that novelty factor is real capital. If you're the kind of guy who's done Asia before and wants something completely off the beaten path with high asymmetry, Patna has a sliver of upside.
Mid score (6-8)
Patna is the only real urban center in Bihar and even there the social scene is constrained — conservative family values, caste dynamics, and a culture where women's public presence is still limited mean the window for real connection is narrow. The city is growing economically with return migration from metros, which is slowly shifting things. You'll work harder here for less output than in almost any major Indian city. The novelty of being foreign carries weight but won't overcome structural barriers alone.
Lower score (below 6)
Bihar is statistically one of India's most conservative states — women's mobility is heavily restricted by family, caste, and community, and the idea of meeting a foreign man socially doesn't really exist as a concept for most of the population. Crime rates in certain areas add a safety dimension that further limits where and how you can operate. Outside of a very thin Patna elite layer, this state is effectively closed. Not the play.
