Akfadou is a dense cedar and oak forest zone that functions as a natural park, and if you're into serious hiking and forest landscapes it's one of the genuinely impressive green environments in northern Algeria. The forestry station and occasional Algerian hikers give you something to interact with. Kabyle guides in this area are knowledgeable and will talk your ear off about the forest ecology. The experience is entirely nature-focused.
