Arken Museum of Modern Art sits right on the Køge Bay beach here and is one of the genuinely excellent art institutions in Denmark - the architecture alone is worth the visit. The beach at Ishøj Strand draws people from across the southern Copenhagen metro in summer. Demographically the most diverse municipality in the region.
