The Catholische Universität Ingolstadt (historical, the university closed in 1800 but left an educational legacy) has been replaced by the THI (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt) with 10,000 students. The Donaukai and Rathausplatz area has a real bar and restaurant scene. This is a genuinely underrated city for social life.
