The Ronhof stadium and SpVgg Greuther Fürth create a genuine local sports identity. The Südstadt has an emerging bar and café scene that's less pretentious than Nuremberg's equivalent. Fürth is permanently in Nuremberg's shadow which creates a chip-on-shoulder local identity — Fürther people are proud of their distinctness from Nuremberg but the reality is that Nuremberg (5km away, directly connected by U-Bahn) sets the social tempo for the whole metro. The bar scene is real but thin compared to Nuremberg proper. Works fine as a cheaper base for Nuremberg social life.
