The medieval tower skyline is intact and the Rottweil Fasnet (carnival) is one of the most intense folk traditions in the German southwest, with the Narrensprung procession of hundreds of masked figures. The ThyssenKrupp elevator test tower (246m, tallest in Germany) opened here in 2017 for an unlikely reason: the local business community successfully lobbied for it.

Good for a visit; challenging as a residential choice without existing connections.
