The Tauber valley wine route through Bad Mergentheim and Weikersheim is one of Germany's legitimate romantic road segments — the landscape is genuinely beautiful with vineyard-covered hillsides and intact medieval towns. Bad Mergentheim has Teutonic Knights history (the Grand Masters resided here from 1525-1809) and functioning spa infrastructure. The Weikersheim palace and its formal gardens are worth the trip. Good for a considered visit; not for long-term social investment.
