Praha 8 covers vastly more than Karlín — Kobylisy, Bohnice, Čimice, and Dolní Chabry are outer residential zones that are essentially equivalent to Praha 9 in social terms. The quality gap within the district is extreme. Libeň, directly north of Karlín, is in transition but still rough. Unless you're in the Karlín pocket specifically, Praha 8 is just another large residential district with limited upside.
