Tercer Frente is mountain and coastal country at the far southern end of Santiago province, one of the least accessible municipalities in Cuba. The name comes from the third guerrilla front of the revolutionary war and the area has stayed genuinely remote ever since. Road access from Santiago is difficult and the sparse population has essentially no contact with foreign visitors. The terrain is striking but that's the only draw here.
