Chaparral is the second most populous municipality in Tolima and has a real urban center with commerce, nightlife, and some social infrastructure. The surrounding coffee and cattle economy generates enough local wealth to support bars and restaurants. As a foreigner you will be genuinely unusual here — very few make it this far south — and that novelty is real currency if you are comfortable in a setting that has no tourist-track polish.
