Sham Shui Po is Hong Kong's electronics and fabric wholesale district — Apliu Street flea market is the real deal, and the area has a gritty, pre-gentrification energy that's increasingly attracting young creatives and designers who work with the material supply chains here. Women in this district who are internationally-minded tend to be in design, fashion, or the arts, and they're less performance-oriented than their Central counterparts. Budget accommodations and street food make it a good long-stay base if you can tolerate the density.
