Wagner is a small municipality inside the Chapada Diamantina near Seabra and the Capivara plateau, and the area contains some of the Chapada's most dramatic geology including the Serra de Santana cliffs and the Sítio das Araras area known for macaw nesting. Some eco-tourism and birding tourism has developed around the macaw colony. A foreign man interested in birdwatching or geology has an immediate entry into the local guide and eco-tourism community.
