SãoFélix
8.1
High score (8-10) · Your profile
São Félix is a historic Recôncavo city directly across the Paraguaçu River from Cachoeira, connected by the 1885 Dom Pedro II railway bridge — the original colonial town has 18th-century buildings and together with Cachoeira forms one of the most intact colonial urban environments in Brazil. The cultural tourism draw, artisan cigar industry (São Félix has a working cigar factory), and the constant flow of visitors from Salvador and internationally create an open social environment. A foreign man here in the cultural tourism context is completely expected.
Mid score (6-8)
São Félix shares Cachoeira's cultural tourism appeal but the town itself is very small and economically limited. The cigar industry is real but the social scene outside the traveler circuit is minimal.
Lower score (below 6)
São Félix is a very small, economically poor colonial town. The beauty and colonial character are real but the social scene is very limited outside tourist periods.
