Piatã
8.2
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Piatã is a municipality high in the Chapada Diamantina plateau at over 1,000 meters, known for producing some of the best organic coffee in Brazil — the Chapada Diamantina coffee from high altitude farms here is exported internationally. The altitude means pleasant temperatures even in Brazilian summer and the coffee culture and organic farming community have attracted an educated, internationally connected crowd. The trekking access to the Pico das Almas is also here. A foreign man interested in specialty coffee or highland trekking fits immediately.
Mid score (6-8)
Piatã has an interesting specialty coffee culture and attractive highland climate but is still a small town with limited social infrastructure. The coffee/farming community is present but limited in size.
Lower score (below 6)
Piatã is a small highland town with a niche appeal for coffee tourism and trekking but no real social scene for outsiders beyond the specialty agriculture circuit. Very limited social options.
