Jeremoabo
8.0
High score (8-10) · Your profile
Jeremoabo is a small north Bahia city of 35,000 in the Raso da Catarina ecoregion, an isolated highland plateau that was one of the last refuges of the Cangaceiro bandit culture and is now a conservation area. The unique ecology and the historical legacy of the Cangaço (the Lampião-era northeastern Brazilian bandit movement had significant activity here) give the city a cultural character that makes it more interesting than a typical dry interior town. A foreign man who knows this history gets immediate respect.
Mid score (6-8)
Jeremoabo has cultural interest from the Cangaço heritage and ecological interest from the Raso da Catarina but the town is still a small, poor north Bahia interior city with limited infrastructure and a conservative social culture.
Lower score (below 6)
Jeremoabo is a small, dry north Bahia interior city with very limited social infrastructure and a social world organized around agriculture and evangelical church networks. The cultural heritage is interesting but doesn't create a social scene.
